(SPOT.ph) Here in the Philippines, Burger King introduced a Plant-Based Whopper in late 2020—which blew away many Filipinos, hardcore carnivores included, for its patty's smoky taste and meaty texture. Over in Germany, they're taking the idea several notches higher as Burger King is opening their first-ever all-meatless location in Cologne!
This entirely-meatless store will be open from June 7 to June 11, and will be serving plant-based eats in collaboration with European brand The Vegetarian Butcher. This includes the launch in the area of their new plant-based Long Chicken Patty (also known as the Vegan Royale in the U.K.)—a sandwich of a meatless chicken-like patty, vegan mayo, and iceberg lettuce. Note that Burger King has not announced if the Cologne branch's menu will be completely free of other animal products like dairy.
Even prior to the announcement about the meatless restaurant, Burger King Germany has already had other plant-based items on the menu, like the Plant-Based Nuggets. We're excited to see what else they'll be serving at the new location!
