(SPOT.ph) It is October. Already. Yup, we can't wrap our heads around it either. Between all the national news and the personal things, it looks like folks have turned to something erm, unexpected to distract them from real life: Very stressful series (Read: Squid Game). So we're going with the flow and adding to your stress with this weekend's picks! Don't worry though; we've also thrown in a fun one.

Put Popcorn Pedro's titles of what to watch on your weekend stream list:

Sex Education Season 3 (2019-present)

Where to stream: Netflix

Popcorn Pedro says: I think it's a downright tragedy that the new season of Sex Ed dropped pretty much the same time as Squid Game. Not that the brutal series that reminds us of Takeshi's Castle didn't deserve the attention, it just completely overshadowed the equally binge-worthy, also human-body-focused (in a different way), much less disturbing series. The third season amps up the complications and the fun Moordale high-school kids are having—it is definitely the type of cleansing, chill watch you need after bingeing Squid Game

Alice in Borderland (2020-present)

Where to stream: Netflix

Popcorn Pedro says: If you're the masochistic type of viewer, then Alice in Borderland is the way to go. This Japanese series wowed folks with CGI and brutal win-or-die games with the first in 2020, and no, it didn't need to drop any new episodes for it to land back on the Netflix Top 10 list alongside Squid Game. Looks like folks really did just want to be even more stressed—as if the real world wasn't stressful enough! But to be fair, the fantastically gore-y Alice in Borderland really will keep you on edge, if that the high you're going for.

See (2019-present)

Where to stream: Apple TV+

Popcorn Pedro says: The second season for this expansive dystopia series dropped in August, starring Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista as enemies in a not-so-alternate future. Before diving into all that though, you should definitely start with the first season. Several centuries after a virus—first aired in 2019, folks!—wipes out pretty much the entire human population, the survivors have created a new society, only they've lost the ability to see. When Baba Voss (Momoa), a chieftain, marries a pregnant woman and her children turn out to be "sighted," he goes on a quest to protect them from the ensuing witch hunt—led by the Queen of the new kingdom.

Blow the Man Down (2019)

Where to stream: Amazon Prime Video

Popcorn Pedro says: Two sisters try their best to cover up a crime in this offbeat movie. Black comedy in its subtle finest, Blow the Man Down is set in a small Maine fishing town where sisters Priscilla and Mary Beth (Sophie Lowe and Morgan Saylor) have a bit of an erm, run-in, with another local. This sets off a crazy turn of events as the two try to hide this very big, big occurence in a very small town.
