(SPOT.ph) Salty and cheesy with a distinctly toothsome crunch, Cheetos rank high on the list of most crave-worthy junk food—it's the kind you can snack on whether you're just hankering for a savory bite in between lunch and dinner, or while binge-watching Netflix at 2 a.m. Doughnuts, too, are a well-loved food group in its own right—one that's sweet and decidedly carb-y. But can you imagine Cheetos + doughnuts together? If you're open-minded enough to try the combo, here's where you can get it: Poison Doughnuts has new, limited-edition flavors—one of which is the White Chocolate Cheetos doughnut. You read that right.
With crushed Cheetos and a white-chocolate glaze surrounding Poison Doughnuts' signature fluffy, slightly-tangy sourdough doughnut base, the White Chocolate Cheetos Doughnut (P120) definitely isn't your ordinary chocolate or Boston-cream variant. But it surprisingly works—you get a savory-sweet bite reminiscent of the good ol' cheese corn of our youth, with the creaminess of the white chocolate softening the blow of the sharp profile of the Cheetos. Dare we say, we kinda like it!
Really feeling brave? Try the other new and limited-edition chips-themed flavors, too. The Milk Chocolate Doritos (P120) pairs the zesty profile of Doritos with milk chocolate, while the Dark Chocolate Ruffles (P120) features Ruffles potato chips coated with dark chocolate on a salted chocolate-glazed doughnut.
And in case you're looking for an explanation, here's what Poison Doughnuts' Pastry Chef Consultant Sonny Mariano says: "[We've] had this flavor in our bank since last year, [and] the idea came up nung nauso 'yong Cheetos- and Doritos- coated fried chicken in the U.S." They then thought to apply it to doughnuts—and added a chocolate glaze to boot, "para something sweet and salty."
These doughnuts are all available for pickup and delivery orders through Poison Doughnuts' Pickup.ph website. Alternatively, you can find Poison Doughnuts under Off-Grid on The Grid's website.
