(SPOT.ph) Song Joong Ki as an anti-hero with very deep ties to the Italian mafia? Yup, you know what we're talking about. Dark comedy Vincenzo has everyone hooked since it dropped on Netflix and just like Song's character, Vincenzo Cassano, the show's production team has a few secrets up their sleeves. Song revealed in the build-up to the show's release that he has never been to Italy—so just how was that epic revenge sequence done in the first episode? Minor spoilers ahead!

How Were the Italy Scenes in K-Drama Vincenzo Filmed?

"The difficult part was that I’ve never been to Italy in my life. I’ve never spoken Italian in my life," the actor was quoted by Soompi, adding a cheeky, "I’m more scared of my Italian teacher than of the director." If you've watched it, then you must be wondering how the first few minutes of the series—which shows the immaculate-looking Vincenzo dishing out some burning revenge in an Italian vineyard—was filmed. Well, it looks like they went all out with some incredibly smooth computer graphics!

The TvN channel, which broadcasts the show in South Korea, dropped a cool two-minute compilation of clips showing the before and after of scenes set in Italy. Spot Song Joong Ki walking by board-ups that magically become classic Italian buildings and landscapes. We can't even imagine the amount of detail that went into creating these effects.

Plus, if we're reading into this right, it looks like Song wasn't even on set with castmates at times—which must have taken some incredible skill to create into a single scene by the entire team. It was expected that the fire part was definitely CGI, but it's pretty hard to wrap our heads around the fact that practically the entire Italy sequence was created digitally.

Check out the super-smooth compilation of editing here:
