This gorgeous leche flan cake is worth putting at the center of your table:

The La La Leche Flan Cake (P1,850) primarily features the flavors of leche flan and dayap, a.k.a. the local citrus known for its distinct, slightly-floral aroma and bright flavor. Dayap is often used to add a subtle zesty hint to milky desserts like pastillas and leche flan, and this cake plays up the combo even further! It tempts from the appearance alone, with a cake body cloaked in a snowy frosting and studded with 24K gold flakes, then topped with candied dayap wheels and golden cubes of leche flan that glisten against the light. But the real treat comes in as you take a forkful, as it's got soft vanilla chiffon-cake layers lent brightness by a tangy dayap curd and dayap-tinged chantilly creme. Together with the leche flan, everything comes together for a delicate-yet-rich, creamy-yet-tangy, overall-balanced whole.
