(SPOT.ph) Camiguin, an island province off the coast of Mindanao, is known for its white-sand beaches, amazing hot and cold springs, and mystic waterfalls. Dubbed as the "island born of fire," it is home to seven volcanoes that basically shaped its one-of-a-kind terrain through several eruptions in the past. And with the reopening of the newly expanded Camiguin Airport on October 25, it is now easier than ever to visit this travel destination.

Low-cost airline Cebu Pacific is also launching their new direct flight route from Manila to Camiguin on November 15 and resuming their flights from Cebu to Camiguin on November 9—with a seat sale starting at P88 base fare from October 27 to November 10. Travel period runs until December 31.

Both routes will be service by the airline's Cebgo using their ATR aircrafts. The Cebu-Camiguin route is scheduled every Tuesday and Saturday, while the Manil-Camiguin route is schedueld every Monday and Friday.

“We are very happy to launch these direct flights in time with the gradual reopening of domestic tourism. Camiguin is another underrated gem that we believe travelers will enjoy discovering. At the same time, these direct connections will enable residents to fly to and from Cebu and Manila conveniently, be it for leisure or business purposes,” said Xander Lao, Chief Commercial Officer at Cebu Pacific.

Here are the latest Camiguin travel requirements, which are to be uploaded through cleancamiguinqr.com:

  • Health declaration form
  • Nevative RT-PCR test result taken 72 hours before departure from Luzon or 48 hours before departure from Visayas and Mindanao
  • Confirmed booking from an accredited establishment

Prior to Camiguin Airport's expansion, the island can only be reached by ferry through Cagayan de Oro or through a connecting flight in Cebu.
