(SPOT.ph) As quarantine restrictions ease in Metro Manila, local museums and cultural centers are finally allowed to reopen as long as health protocols are followed. This includes the National Planetarium Exhibition Hall, which can once again accommodate curious locals starting on Thursday, July 1. Admission to the gallery is free.
These are the guidelines about the reopening of the National Planetarium Exhibition Hall:
- Online registration is not required and walk-in visitors are welcome, but limited to 20 persons per session only.
- Only persons aged 15 years old and above will be admitted. Senior citizens are also allowed to come in as long as they're fully vaccinated. (Don't forget to bring your vaccination card.)
- Persons with temperature of 37.5 degrees celsius and above or other flu-like symptoms will not be allowed to enter.
- Face masks and face shields should be worn at all times.
- Observe physical distancing of at least two meters between persons who do not belong to the same household.
- Visitors are advised to fill out the health declaration form through the StaySafePH mobile application.
The National Museum Planetarium has made it their mission to disseminate astronomical information through shows, lectures, demonstrations, and exhibits. They upgraded their full dome projection of astronomical bodies in 2017 as part of their efforts to capture the interest of a new generation of viewers. Planetarium shows, however, are temporarily not available.
The National Art Gallery, Museum of Natural History, and Museum of the Filipino People reopened on June 19.
The National Planetarium is located between the Open Air Auditorium and the Japanese Garden at Luneta Park in Manila City. Entrance is at the back of the Chess Plaza. Visiting schedule is from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. For updates, follow the National Museum of the Philippines.
