(SPOT.ph) We can't even remember a time the Friends stars weren't famous. But then again, the '80s and '90s sure were a different era. (Sidenote: 1990 is now farther away than 2050. We're sorry you had to hear it from us.) This was a time when Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, and Matt LeBlanc were all just young folks waiting for their big break (Read: the Friends sitcom that would make them household names across the globe).
And because we're suckers for nostalgia, we scoured the Internet archives for some of their earliest works—and we found a trove of excellent, flashback-inducing old commercials.

Go on nostalgia overdrive with these 10 old commercials featuring the Friends cast:
David Schwimmer

Judging by the overall vibe, we're guessing this ad for U.S. telecommunications company AT&T was in the early '90s, possibly pre-Friends. Except there is something very Ross about the way Schwimmer delivered that last line. Goodness, his puppy-dog eyes sure were adorable.
Courteney Cox
[youtube:{"videoId":"null","youtubeId":"kOHCtQfFn7E", "caption":""}]
Courteney Cox reportedly holds the award for the first ever person to say "period"—as in referring to menstruation—on national TV in the U.S. And this was already 1985, folks. This arguably revolutionary moment is all thanks to a very '80s aerobics-esque Tampax commercial.
Jennifer Aniston
[youtube:{"videoId":"null","youtubeId":"lOdP6HpHlUY", "caption":""}]
Okay, so you had to wait a bit to spot her—but Jennifer Aniston will always be instantly recognizable. We have to say this commercial's storyline is very erm, of its time (as in ridiculously sexist, or just plain ridiculous) so were thankful Aniston's career only went up from here.
Matt LeBlanc
[youtube:{"videoId":"null","youtubeId":"gB4zSiRbyzQ", "caption":""}]
And finally we reach Matt LeBlanc. The young actor's hunky looks was clearly a hit with the casting agents—we honestly wonder why Estelle had such a hard time—so yup, LeBlanc had the most commercials we saw. And aptly enough, aside from that totally magnetic appearance in the Levi's advert above, all the others are about food! LeBlanc and Joey are basically one person.
[youtube:{"videoId":"null","youtubeId":"iS9H_kHpauY", "caption":""}]
Man, we wish today's commercials had as fun a vibe and cool a jingle as this KFC ad. Matt LeBlanc would definitely be a great plus, too.
[youtube:{"videoId":"null","youtubeId":"Hz_U5MAZ_D0", "caption":""}]
We totally see this family blending into the Friends universe—except his name wouldn't be Tony! It's Joey all the way. Imagine if instead of Monica's jam, Joey was obsessed with Kellog's Fruitful Bran instead.
[youtube:{"videoId":"null","youtubeId":"N_vssdys8lk", "caption":""}]
Honestly, we have no idea what his plan for the Heinz ketchup was in this ad—but we're all for these kooky moves. It's easy to imagine Joey doing the same for a good sandwich.
[youtube:{"videoId":"null","youtubeId":"Bgqm0Iz6xx8", "caption":""}]
This commercial is perfect in case you needed a reminder Joey was the absolute hunk of the group. Not that we could ever forget, really. Only LeBlanc could look that attractive while being a sweaty mess. And if you want a Coke after this, remember that Joey doesn't share food! So best get your own.
[youtube:{"videoId":"null","youtubeId":"0gIiNRDdaVI", "caption":""}]
We saved the best for last. This 1988 advert is peak '80s wholesomeness. Where can we find a person as attractive as LeBlanc and also willing to wait for us to finish our shift? And that pink shirt, pink bow touch was just perfect.
Bonus: Lisa Kudrow
[youtube:{"videoId":"null","youtubeId":"gwKvalxwJJY", "caption":""}]
Ever the deviant, we couldn't find a commercial of Kudrow from before or during the early days of Friends. Although there was this Nintendo DS ad about her learning how to cook Kung Pao Chicken! And now we can hear Chandler going, "Of course, it had to be Kung Pao Chicken."
Bonus Part Two: Banned Friends Commercial
[youtube:{"videoId":"null","youtubeId":"vuRHop7K2KE", "caption":""}]
Can you imagine they even had to advertise this sitcom at one point? Yup, NBC, the network where the show originally aired, produced several creative ads with the cast—including this hilarious one that was supposedly banned. TBH, their underwear is super PG, relatively speaking, and we totally appreciate how on-brand Cox still is.
