(SPOT.ph) The pandemic has forced most of us to stay home, tinkering with whatever we have lying around or ordering what we need online. Others have gone the practical route by starting their own herb or vegetable garden to have an unlimited supply of fresh produce for their next kitchen takeover. If you're looking to upgrade your urban garden, you can now get free supplies as long as you have plastic bottles lying around! Read on for details about Robinsons Malls' Bottle to Plants barter program.

The Bottle to Plants program was held at Robinsons Magnolia on May 20. Other Robinsons malls are also joining in on selected dates in June.

Plastic bottles should be clean and dry. A minimum of three 1.5-liter bottles or one five-liter bottle can be exchanged for organic compost and loam soil, which is a mixture of sand, silt, and clay. You can also have the bottles exchanged for free seeds and seedlings distributed by the Bureau of Plant Industry at the following Robinsons Malls:

  • Robinsons Town Mall Malabon on May 21
  • Robinsons Novaliches on May 28
  • Robinsons Galleria on June 4
  • Robinsons Place Las Piñas on June 11
  • Robinsons Metro East on June 17
  • Forum Robinsons on June 18
  • Robinsons Place Antipolo on June 24
  • Robinsons Galleria South on June 25

This barter program not only promotes recycling of plastic products, but also supports urban gardening for growing your own food and adding patches of green to our busy residential areas.
