(SPOT.ph) It's June, which also happens to be Pride Month! The annual celebration aims to highlight LGBTQ+ voices and underscores the fight for LGBTQ+ rights—which is important as the community continues to face discrimination in different avenues to this day. If you'd like to celebrate in a sweet way, we've got just the thing: Sebastian's Ice Cream is coming out with colorful-as-can-be Rainbow Ice Cream Cake for this month, starting today, June 1!
Here's the lowdown on Sebastian's Ice Cream's new dessert:
The Rainbow Ice Cream Cake is a stunning frozen treat with layers of ube cake, blueberry ice cream, avocado ice cream, lemon cake, orange sherbet, strawberry sorbet, sweet-cream ice cream, and a crunchy milk crumb. Yup, aside from the different colors, each layer also has a different flavor! It's also decorated with lashings of rainbow white chocolate and edible gold glitter for an extra-whimsical touch. However you identify or express yourself and whoever you love, you'll want to try this dessert—while every layer has its own distinct flavor profile, they all come together for a fruity-meets-creamy, indulgent whole. You can get a slice for P155 either from their website or their The Podium shop, or a whole nine-inch cake for P1,650 from their website.
Sebastian's is also bringing back their Pride Pops—their line of colorful, multi-layered popsicles that they bring back for the occasion every year (save for last year given the pandemic). A returning favorite from the line is the Rainbow Pride Pop (P95) taking after the revised, six-color Pride Flag that's based on the eight-color original by Gilbert Baker, with fruit-based layers in strawberry, orange, mango, green apple, blueberry, and grape flavors.
The Bear Pride Pop (P95) is also making a comeback—this popsicle is based on the Bear Pride Flag credited to Craig Byrnes, with milk-based layers in the flavors of chocolate, nutella caramel, coffee, vanilla, black sesame, and black cocoa.
This year, Sebastian's is also debuting the Transgender Pride Pop based on the Trans Flag by American trans woman Monica Helms, and it's got Yakult-based layers in blackberry, strawberry, and original-Yakult flavors. "This is the newest addition to the line, and something we wanted to do for Pride Month to show our support to the transgender community as they have been facing new levels of scrutiny and persecution," Sebastian's writes.
The Pride Pops will also be available for a limited time starting today, June 1, both though Sebastians' delivery website and The Podium shop.
Sebastian’s is a local artisanal ice cream maker known for their wide range of ice cream flavors and other frozen desserts. They've also got fun flavors like the Sapin-Sapin and Strawberry Sans Rival.
Sebastian's Ice Cream is at 4/F The Podium, ADB Avenue, Ortigas, Mandaluyong City. For delivery orders, check out Sebastian's Ice Cream's website. For more information, check out Sebastian's Ice Cream's Facebook page.
