(SPOT.ph) The "pink supermoon" lit up the night sky on April 27—giving everyone an even better reason to dream of escaping the Earth. Wait, sorry was that just us? Well, whatever circumstances you're in right now, it seems the cosmos wanted to gift us with the second-largest full moon for the year. And don't worry if you weren't able to take a few moments of peace to gaze up; we round up some of the best shots of the supermoon from awesome photographers across the country!

Dubbed the "pink supermoon," this is the night when the moon appears brighter and bigger than usual (Read: Absolutely glorious) thanks to its nearer-than-usual distance to the little blue dot (Read: Us). Don't be misled by the name. Astrologers took their cue from the Native Americans who used the moon to track the seasons. This "pink" supermoon happens after the Spring equinox and signals the start of a new season—and more significantly in this context, the blooming of the moss pink flower (Phlox subulata).
