(SPOT.ph) Most hospitals in Metro Manila are now already at full capacity following the surge in positive COVID-19 cases in the country. St. Luke's Medical Center announced that their COVID ward and ICU beds were full as of March 22, Makati Medical Center and Ospital ng Makati reached capacity on March 15, and similar updates have been announced by other facilities. UP-OCTA, an independent and interdisciplinary research team, on March 21 projected that the situation in Metro Manila will only worsen and total bed and intensive-care units for COVID-19 patients will be at full capacity by first week of April if the current reproduction number of 1.9 continues. A reduction to as much as 1.5 will only delay the maxed-out capacity to two weeks.

The Greater Manila Area is on a one-week Enhanced Community Quarantine status starting on March 29; on the same day, the Department of Health recorded 10,016 new cases, the highest single-day tally so far. It's like 2020 all over again, but worse. If you need to get medical attention ASAP, University of the Philippines' Endcov.ph portal features an interactive map that shows the COVID-19 hospital nearest you.

Details include capacity, exact address, contact numbers, so you can call ahead of time to ask if they're still accepting patients. The map also shows quarantine facilities, testing centers, and other non-COVID hospitals.

Endcov.ph was launched by the University of the Philippines COVID-19 Pandemic Response Team in April 2020. Aside from an easy-to-use map for health facilities, it also has a color-coded "heat map" that shows localized areas with the most and least number of confirmed COVID-19 cases, projections shown through a line graph, and other useful information.
