Chef JP Anglo Is Making a Must-Try Kurobuta Pork Barbecue for a Limited Time

(SPOT.ph) Chef JP Anglo of Sarsa Kitchen+Bar is hailed for his fresh approach to Filipino cuisine—one that isn't afraid to experiment while still paying homage to tradition. The dishes he makes are as creative as they are well-thought out, and well worth indulging in during this time of the year. If you're looking to dig into food that has the familiarity of the Filipino eats you grew up with, but as seen in a novel light, here's your chance: Chef Anglo has collaborated with Hugo Boss for #BossTogetherPH, and he's created a special menu that will benefit frontliners and marginalized families. It will be available to order for a limited time.

The collaboration menu consists of five dishes. You can start off with the tender and succulent Grilled Esguerra Kurobuta Pork Barbecue, Tofu Inasal basted with Annatto Oil, served with coriander-spiced coconut vinegar—think pork barbecue, made topnotch with the use of Kurobuta pork—before moving on to the umami-heavy Soba Noodles Tossed in Talangka Butter topped with Grilled Lemongrass Prawns. From there, get your chicken fix with the Organic Chicken Inasal, Chef JP's take on the Ilonggo classic, and feed your inner carnivore with the Beef Cheeks braised in Batchoy Stock, served with batchoy gravy, or slow-cooked batchoy beef cheeks with sticky Japanese rice on the side. Finally, you can end on a sweet note with the 32% White Chocolate with Kasuy, a special roasted white chocolate bar with chopped cashew nuts from Palawan, created in collaboration with Auro Chocolate.

It makes a great gift, too.

"Having been given this opportunity, I’m very thrilled to offer a menu that was created with a special dedication to those in need. For every order, every bite, someone, somewhere is fed," says Anglo in a statement. "I think the menu is very heartfelt and I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did creating it."

Each set goes for P4,500 and comes with a bottle of champagne. The best part is, 10% of the sales will be donated to the YesPinoy Foundation, which provides food to marginalized families and frontliners, plus education-to-employment support for youth beneficiaries. Curious yet? You can try these dishes by calling or texting 0917-528-0115. Note that the set will only be available until December 31, so hurry!

Hugo Boss is a German luxury brand whose product line spans clothing (from business wear, casual outfits, athleisure wear, and evening wear!), accessories, footwear, and fragrances, created for both women and men.

Chef JP Anglo, on the other hand, is a Filipino chef who hails from Negros Occidental. In February, his restaurant Sarsa collaborated with lechon restaurant Zubuchon, which resulted in special limited-edition dishes, including a killer 3-Way Pork Sisig.

In February, as part of their collaboration with Zubuchon, Chef JP came up with a killer take on sisig that features pork cooked three ways.
