(SPOT.ph) Elephant Grounds shook up the Metro Manila café scene when they opened up shop at Bonifacio Global City in 2019. If you live closer to the north end of Manila, though, you might not be able to visit as often as you'd like due to the sheer distance (and Manila traffic)—until now. The Hong Kong café's second branch is opening at the ground level of The Podium.
We did a little snooping around and were told that this branch of Elephant Grounds will be opening on Saturday, December 5.
Elephant Grounds hails from Hong Kong and goes way back to 2013 as a laid-back antithesis to the mainstream coffee shops in the area offering great coffee, ice-cream sandwiches, and Japanese-inspired savory eats. The café is a hit with the locals for its relaxed and comfy vibe, and has branches in Causeway Bay, Wan Chai, and more.
The BGC branch opened last year and is distinct from its Hong Kong counterpart, with exclusive dishes created in collaboration with Hey Handsome's Chef Nicco Santos. They've got brunch dishes and rice bowls given distinctly Southeast Asian spins, making for meals that are at once novel and familiar.
They're not just a brunch place, mind you; they recently also came out with new dinner dishes at the BGC branch, which include the creamy Guanciale Carbonara, as well as one-of-a-kind cocktails and sangria.
Elephant Grounds will be at G/F The Podium, ADB Avenue, Ortigas, Mandaluyong City.
