(SPOT.ph) It's no secret that Liza Soberano isn't one to mess with. She has been breaking the "delicate sweetheart" stereotype since forever—remember the Internet "fiasco" and the cockroach incident?—and the latest clip of hers to go viral is only further proof of her badassery. Twitter account Kapamilya Online World recently posted a montage of Soberano kicking ass with smoothly executed martial arts moves. The short video was from the Instagram account of mixed martial arts fighter Erwin Tagle, who posted it on November 29.

In the clips, Soberano can be seen taking down multiple assailants, showing off her nunchaku skills, and even beating up a poor, innocent punching bag—all with a self-assuredness we know only Darna could have. Fittingly, Tagle was part of the team that trained Soberano during her time on the much-awaited Darna film adaptation by ABS-CBN. The clips are most likely from her time training under Tagle's studio Tag Team Stunts before Soberano had to back out of the Darna role in April 2019 for medical reasons.
The film adaptation has been in the works for several years now, with Jane De Leon taking over the role of the Pinoy heroine. The latest news is that the movie will be rehashed into a series and will premiere in ABS-CBN's streaming platform, iWantTFC. Despite all the changes, it's clear the badass clip has people clamoring for "A Darna that we never had," as the Kapamilya Online World Twitter account put it. Folks online chimed in to celebrate what could have been—and even ask that Soberano star in an original action flick, even if it wasn't Darna.
