Victor Von Doom may have started his supervillain career battling the Fantastic Four, but it wasn't long until he became such a huge presence that he clashed with just about every hero in the Marvel Universe. With his technologically advanced armor, mastery of the mystic arts, and an intelligence very few others can rival, Dr. Doom is the unquestioned ruler of the country of Latveria.
Unsatisfied with only having one country to rule, Doom's plans are ever-expansive. Rarely down for long, his plots being foiled are often chalked up as "mere temporary setbacks." Although Doom often manages to save face when defeated, there have been instances he's suffered some truly humiliating losses.
10 Dr. Doom Is Tricked Into Losing The Power Cosmic

Mr. Fantastic comes up with the idea to lure Doom away from Earth with a flying device. When Doom attempts to violate the boundaries placed on him by Galactus, he instantly loses his stolen power.

Dr. Doom may be unsuccessful in conquering the world, but he's conquered Latveria. Being the king of a small nation has seen him clash with the king of another small nation: Black Panther, King of Wakanda.
After T'Challa married the X-Men, Storm, Dr. Doom invited them to Latveria to discuss an alliance. Black Panther refuses and a battle ensues. Storm takes care of the Doombots while Panther tangles with Dr. Doom. Black Panther unleashes an EMP, taking out all the power in Latveria and temporarily leaving the country completely defenseless.

7 The Invisible Woman Levels Dr. Doom's Castle
Susan Richards had difficulty giving birth to her second child, Valeria, and needed Dr. Doom's help. Despite his rivalry with the Richards clan, Doom developed a fondness for Valeria.
During a tumultuous time with the FF, Valeria went to Latveria to spend time with Dr. Doom. Driven by intense feelings of irrational anger, Sue made her way to Latveria and demanded that Doom give her Valeria back. Sue not only destroys all of Doom's castle defenses, but she also uses her invisible force field to tear his armor apart from within.
6 The Hulk Doesn't Give Doom The Satisfaction Of Beating Him
When Bruce Banner was running from the police, Dr. Doom offered him sanctuary. Doom then hypnotized him, took him to Latveria, and made him work on a gamma bomb.
The woman Doom loved felt pity for Banner and freed him from Doom's control. With the Hulk unleashed, Dr. Doom engaged him in combat. Hulk trapped Doom in a bearhug and declared the fight over. Doom insisted it wouldn't end until one of them was dead, but Hulk turned his back on him and leaped away, leaving Doom angry and unsatisfied.
5 Reed Richards Stole Doom's Identity
There aren't many threats big enough to prompt a Mr. Fantastic and Dr. Doom team-up, but that was the case when the Dreaming Celestial attempted to merge the Earth with a pocket dimension. Doom and Reed stopped the Celestial, but only Reed, wearing Doom's armor, survived.
Only revealing the truth to his family, Reed posed as Doom for some time and took over his duties, beating Doom at his own game. Ironically, the real Doom needed the help of Sue and the Fantastic Four to reclaim his identity.
4 The Thing Breaks Doom's Hands
When the Fantastic Four had lost their powers, Doom took the opportunity to take over the Baxter Building. The FF had to sneak past their own defenses to get inside.
Reed made his way to a device that restored his, Sue, and Johnny's powers. Doom was able to freeze the team and Ben had no choice but to become the Thing again to fight Doom. Enraged at losing his newly regained normalcy, Thing fights off all Doom's weapons and then tears through his armor and crushes his hands.

2 Ant-Man Takes Dr. Doom Apart

The fight was personal for Scott, who was powered by Pym particles in a way they'd never been used before. Doom underestimated him and Ant-Man tore his armor apart, removed Doom's mask, and forced him to look into a mirror. Ant-Man points out that Doom's facial scars will always reflect his inner ugliness.
