You've Got Longer Registration Hours + More Saturdays to Sign Up to Vote

The Commission on Elections said it extended registration hours for voters and added Saturday signups in Metro Manila and some parts of the country to accomodate more registrants before the October 31 deadline.

Here's what you should know about the extended voters' registration hours:

Starting Saturday, October 16, extended weekday registration hours of 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and additional Saturday registration from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. will be implemented in local Commission on Elections (COMELEC) offices as well as in mall registration sites in the following areas:

  • All cities and municipalities in the National Capital Region
  • The municipalities of Alcala and San Quintin in Pangasinan
  • Tarlac City and the municipalities of Capas and Concepcion in Tarlac
  • All municipalities and city in Quezon Province
  • Labo, Camarines Norte
  • Castilla, Sorsogon
  • The cities of Cebu, Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu in Cebu Province

Additional days for Saturday registration on October 16 and 23 will also be implemented in the following areas, but weekday registration hours stay from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.:

  • The municipalities of Anda, Santo Tomas and Sual in Pangasinan
  • The municipalities of Aringay, Balaoan and Caba in La Union
  • All cities and municipalities of Ilocos Sur
  • The municipalities of Balatan, Bula, Cabusao, Goa, Lagonoy, Libmanan, Magarao, Minalabac, Ragay, Sagñay, San Fernando, San Jose, Tigaon and Tinambac in Camarines Sur

The rest of the country will still follow the Monday to Friday voter registration period from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The last day is on October 30, a Saturday.

The voter registration period for the 2022 elections was supposed to end on September 30, but the Comelec extended it until October 30 as it heeded to calls from lawmakers and the public for an extension to allow more eligible voters to sign up.
