(SPOT.ph) Sweet, pillowy, and often colorful and/or intricate in design, doughnuts are the kind of treat that evoke the easier and more carefree days of your childhood. Alcoholic drinks, on the other hand, tend to be on the opposite side of the spectrum—that is, they're a more grownup indulgence that you go for as a way to (temporarily) escape the hardships of the #adulting life. You'd think doughnuts and alcohol have nothing in common, but Poison Coffee & Doughnuts is bridging the gap in the most drool-worthy way possible. Yup, the homegrown brand has just come out with Christmas flavors that your grownup self with love, as they're spiked!

Check out Poison's new spiked doughnuts:
You've got four boozy flavors to choose from, all inspired by classic cocktails. The Cuba Libre (P95) features doughnuts soaked in rum and topped with a cola frosting and candied lemon, just like the highball of the same name. Meanwhile, the Mojito (P95) pairs a mojito-soaked doughnut with a bright sugar glaze flavored with lime and mint, making for a zesty whole with that extra (and welcome!) depth of alcohol.
For coffeeheads, they've got the Irish Coffee (P110), which has their doughnuts filled with a deep coffee custard and coated in a Kahlua sugar glaze and coffee nibs. And for an old-fashioned, nostalgic bite, try the Piña Colada (P110)—a.k.a. their doughnuts filled with pineapple jelly, then glazed with coconut and white rum and sprinkled with dessicated coconut!
Not into alcohol? Fret not; Poison also has two whimsical flavors in the Christmas lineup that are non-alcoholic, but every bit as worthy of giving a try. If you're in the pro-mint chocolate camp, try the Dark Chocolate Mint (P110)—a loaded treat with a mint-white chocolate glazed doughnut drizzled with dark chocolate, bits of the mint-chocolate candy known as Andes, and topped with a lightly-torched marshmallow. The Berries Yakult (P110) lets you try the fruit-plus-Yakult combo popularized by milk-tea shops in doughnut form; bite into its vivid, mixed-berry glazed exterior and you'll find a creamy Yakult custard inside!
