(SPOT.ph) Ah, those (relatively) carefree pre-pandemic days—when we could more freely travel for leisure, be it sightseeing or exploring the diverse cuisines of our neighboring Asian countries. Hong Kong, in particular, was a popular spot among Filipinos not only for their proximity, but for their amazing food! Most of us are staying within the Philippines right now for safety reasons, but that doesn't mean you can't still get your Hong-Kong food fix, especially now that there's a new eatery in town that specializes in just that: Check out Fook Yah in Poblacion!

This new restaurant in Poblacion serves up drool-worthy Hong Kong eats:

Fook Yah comes to us via the Viray family—a.k.a. the same folks behind restaurants like Ebi 10, Joe’s Brew, Nokal, Kampai, and The Spirits Library—and it takes inspiration from their own travels to Fragrant Harbour. And you can go ham on all sorts of roasted meats here, just like what you'll find in the many roast stalls around Hong Kong, cooked daily following Hong Kong style recipes in their kitchen.

From Cantonese Style Roast Duck (starts at P550/small) with a shiny, lacquered glaze to the crisp Hong Kong Style Roasted Crispy Pork Belly (starts at P360/small), sweet-savory Roasted Honey Spare Ribs (starts at P340/small), umami-rich Simmered Chicken with Dark Soy Sauce (starts at P450/medium), and show-stopping Roasted Goose (P4,200/whole), they've got you covered. You can also pair your meat(s) of choice with sides like Marinated Tofu (P95), Jellyfish with Sesame Oil (P220), and Poached Vegetables (P200)!

For a complete meal you can also go for one of their rice topping dishes like the Roasted Pork Belly Rice (P300) or Two Kinds of Roasted Meat Rice (P300); and if you're in the mood for noods you can try noodle dishes like the Stewed Charsiu Noodle (P280) or Fish Balls Noodle soup (P250) Either way, it's all about traveling by taste here—something we could all use in these times.
