(SPOT.ph) Call it our way of coping with the hectic nature of modern life, if you will, but hanging out at a café with great interiors does serious wonders for the soul. The change of environment can give your spirits a lift—especially when you're in the company of drool-worthy eats and drinks! Now if there's anyone who understands the value of great interiors, it's the folks from furniture shop Design Story. They recently opened a new showroom at The Alley at Karrivin Plaza in Makati, and apart from being housing a furniture shop and exhibit, it's also home to a must-visit dining spot: Check out their soon-to-open café, Three Squares Café and Bar!

Here's the deal on this snazzy new cafe in Makati:
Design Story describes Three Squares as a "design-inspired café [plus] bar," which you can easily spot at it's located right in the middle of their new showroom. It fits right into Design Story's well-lit, cozy space that's got light wooden fixtures, pewter couches, and greenery that pops out against the more neutral shades in the backdrop. It's as subtly sleek as it is serene, making for a space that's conducive to everything from casual work meetings to catchup sessions with friends. Plus, you'll find modern dining pieces, chairs, and tables by European brands HAY and &tradition around the café!
Of course, there's more to Three Squares than just their stunning visuals, because there are great eats and drinks to be had here, too. They've got light bites that give classic dishes subtle twists without straying too far from the realm of familiarity—think Beetroot Hummus (P260) that gets an extra earthy touch and naturally pink hue from the addition of beets, Truffle Mushroom Croquettes (P280) that highlight the umami of mushrooms, and an Avocado Toast (P380) topped with a poached egg that you can break into for added richness before digging in.
You can also sip your worries away—for the time being, anyway—with one or more of their cocktails. For daytime drinking, you can go for their non-alcoholic numbers like the invigorating Minimalist (P180/for dine-in, P360/bottled and good for two for takeout or delivery) that combines earl grey, lemon, and sugar. If you're really looking to get happy, you can also go for their alcoholic libations like the Three Squares (P280/for dine-in, P560/bottled and good for two for takeout or delivery) with a spiced syrup that breaths warmth into coffee, cream, and Irish whisky. And anytime you'd like to wind down, you can also go for their coffee drinks, which include the Cafe Con Leche (P180/for dine-in, P220/bottled and good for two for takeout or delivery) that combines double espresso, condensed milk, fresh milk, and nutmeg for a spiced touch.
Three Squares Café and Bar opens their doors on October 9, and they'll be open for dine-in at 20% capacity as per IATF regulations. But you can also opt to order for takeout or delivery very soon; keep an eye on their social media pages for updates.
