(SPOT.ph) Adopting or getting a dog became popular during the pandemic—they're the best creatures to get stuck with during quarantine, after all. They don't get tired of seeing you every day, they know when you need some cheering up, and they give you some semblance of a routine (i.e. feeding and walking schedule) while you're working from home.

In an effort to "make dogs as happy as they make us," Angela Burkley started Woof Box—a monthly subscription service that provides a curated box of all-natural treats, toys, and surprise goodies for your pets. The pandemic-born business, which launched in March, is "all about serving dogs and their people." Burkley was inspired by Pom, the company's "pupper CEO and resident treat and toy tester."

"I think one of the things that really influenced the reason for starting Woof Box was when my dog gave birth to five pups in the middle of the pandemic. I was already obsessed with my one dog at the time and the fact that there were five new puppies got me even more hooked with dogs and puppies all together," she told SPOT.ph in an online exchange. This obsession with furry friends often push dog owners to buy the most nutritious dog food (even if they can be expensive), the best toys, and the cutest clothes and accessories. They—both doggo and human—are always excited about getting anything new, almost like a child on Christmas morning.

Burkley initially thought of selling dog clothes, collars, leashes, and treats. But after noticing that dog subscription boxes are gaining popularity overseas and locally, she landed on the idea of Woof Box.

What Is a Dog Subscription Box

Dog owners can sign up for one of the three Woof Box Plans: a one-month subscription for P850/box to ease you and your puppy into the service, a three-month subscription for P750/box, and a six-month subscription for P650/box. The long-term subscription saves you more than 23%. The boxes are customized depending on your dog's traits; or sometimes, they follow monthly themes, such as autumn for October and picnic for June. The Woof Box gets delivered straight to your door wherever you are in the Philippines.

"I think as I spent more time with my dog and her new puppies during this pandemic, I got to see that the bond with them (and dogs in general) is really built on the fun interaction with your dog—which really starts with toys, treats, and how you spend time with your dog. The dog is the customer, but really it's also about giving a great experience between dog and dog parent to share," Burkley said.

She thinks that "every dog deserves to be spoiled." And the best way to do this is to provide them with all-natural treats and interactive fun toys that will keep them busy, especially when you're slouched in front of your laptop.

"It's not weird to fixate on finding the BEST for your dog, and Woof Box is right here with all the crazy dog people to work together to find your dog's next favorite toy or treat," she added.
