COVID-19 patients who are isolating at home are eligible for a benefits package from PhilHealth, the national health insurance service said in a Facebook post on September 15. The package is intended for mild and asymptomatic cases.
The COVID-19 home isolation benefit package is worth P5,917 and is composed of the following, according to PhilHealth:
1. At least 10 days of home isolation consultations, including at least two consultations with a doctor from a PhilHealth-accredited facility
2. Round the clock or 24/7 clinical and supportive care from a nurse via telecommunication
3. A home isolation kit containing:
- 1 Liter of 70% alcohol
- 5 pieces, face mask
- 1 thermometer
- 1 pulse oximeter
- Consent form
- Medication and vitamins such as paracetamol, lagundi tablets, ascorbic acid etc.

PhilHealth says all Filipinos registered under the National Health Insurance Program are eligible for the benefits package, but those who have yet to register may also be covered provided that they have accomplished the PhilHealth Member Registration Form.
Netizens, though, seem unconvinced, with most of the commenters sharing their own experiences of having dealt with (or not dealt with) PhilHealth, or expressing their doubts about whether the benefits are legitimate:
PhilHealth has had its fair share of the news spotlight lately, with hospitals reporting they are struggling financially due to the national insurer's failure to pay reimbursements that are due them for COVID-19 treatments. Earlier in the year, PhilHealth had claimed that the alleged missing P15 billion in funds had been "liquidated."
