After a Decade, Beyond Yoga Is Closing Their Doors

(SPOT.ph) The pandemic hit every business hard, but the fitness industry as a whole was one that especially struggled to adapt to the conditions of the so-called new normal. While food and retail quickly shifted to online operations and delivery, gyms and fitness studios had to be a little more creative with providing their services. Pre-COVID, their business model often relied on large gatherings and enclosed spaces, both of which are discouraged amidst the pandemic. While many fitness centers have been able to stay afloat thanks to online sessions and outdoor classes, others have been less fortunate. Today, September 29, yoga studio Beyond Yoga announced that they are officially shutting down operations.

Beyond Yoga announced their closure through an Instagram post, in which they addressed their long-time customers and students in a heartfelt caption. "With your help, we managed to stay afloat for a little over a year through digital classes," they said. "Unfortunately, this pandemic has pushed us beyond our limits."

They went on to thank their many patrons, saying that they "are grateful for all the years we have shared with you in our QC, Serendra, Greenhills, Alabang, and Rockwell studios." Beloved by many a yogi and fitness enthusiast, Beyond Yoga even landed the number two spot in the 2019 edition of our list of Top 10 Yoga Studios in Manila—a title they continued to hold even as of writing, since the list hadn't been updated in 2020.

Beyond Yoga was founded in 2011, making the long-running yoga studio 10 years old.
