(SPOT.ph) As it turns out, you don’t need to leave the city if you’re after relaxing views. Right in Quezon City stands a modern-industrial 820sqm dwelling dubbed The Black Nest, where you can take in the sight of the mountains either by the balcony or as you take a dip into the infinity pool. But this home is not just about the majestic sights that you’re bound to see every single day, it’s also fitted with sustainably sourced materials, lots of huge windows to let natural light in, and a play of textures all around, among others.

Take a peek inside The Black Nest, a modern industrial Presello house in Quezon City:

The play of textures is evident from the facade.

From the street, the house is bound to get your attention with its modern structure, sleek lines, wooden elements, and the abundance of plants in the property.

It has a spacious carport.

The carport can fit three to four vehicles. It’s connected to the garden and the front door on one side, and a convenient access to the kitchen on the other. For the latter, this means you don’t need to go through the front door to bring your groceries inside the house—you can just use the door that directly leads to the kitchen—so convenient!

The house makes use of recycled wood.

Sustainably sourced wood was used extensively for this home. The front door and the accents that you’d find in various parts of the house (such as the vertical wooden slabs seen in the photo above) are all made out of recycled mahogany, while the other doors in the home are made out of recycled narra.

The living, dining, and kitchen are all in one space.

This area looks even more spacious thanks to the huge windows and relatively high ceilings. The open-floor plan also makes it a flexible space in the long run—especially if you’re the type who likes rearranging your furniture every so often.

The kitchen is all about details...

There’s a lot going on in this space details-wise, if you look closely, but it’s done in a way that it looks effortlessly put-together. Just look at the glossy cupboards, the jet-black granite countertop of the island counter, down to the powder-coated, matte sink and the honeycomb tiles in gray which serve as the backsplash—it sounds out there on paper, but visually, you have to agree with us that it’s very cohesive.

This area has track lights, which are adjustable depending on what you want to focus on—whether it’s to add a dramatic effect to your meals or if you want to highlight the decorations placed on your cupboards.

...and the same goes for the staircase.

The staircase has metal handrails and what seems to be high-tension wires for a cool, minimalist look. There’s also a clear delineation from the staircase to the other areas of the house, thanks to the wooden border placed on the landing. Plus, each step’s wooden slab has a subtle line detail on the side.

The cement-finish walls add character to the space.

Various areas of the house feature cement-finish walls, which provide a textural contrast to the clean, stark feel of the space. In one of the bedrooms, you could find one side of the room with this wall treatment in medium gray for that concrete look, while another bedroom has two walls in medium and dark gray, respectively.

You get a majestic view of the mountains.

Many areas of the house have access to a balcony, and yes, any of these can give you a front-row seat to a serene view of the mountains. Now who would have thought it could be seen in this part of the Metro?

There’s an infinity pool facing the mountains, too!

You can also marvel at the amazing mountain view while you take a dip in the pool. This home has a 10-feet-deep infinity pool and a shower area for days when you just want some resort-living vibes without having to step out of the house.

The other kitchen is made for entertaining.

Yes, you read that right—there’s a second kitchen in this house. This kitchen is a bit similar to the first one in terms of design, but with the space it has right before the doors leading to the pool, you might just have the perfect spot for when you need to entertain guests. Just imagine turning the counter into a bar, placing some seating options across it, and conveniently serving cocktails by the pool.
