(SPOT.ph) Almost every country has their own defining street food—and if we have our fishballs, Argentinians have their choripán. Essentially a chorizo sandwich, the dish appeals for its deeply savory character and is also popular in different countries across South America. Inspired by this, the folks behind Hola Bombón have opened a new delivery-only shop where you can get your street-style chorizo sandwich fix: Check out Chori Chori!
Chori Chori's take on the Chori Sandwich (P250) has a thick and punchy chorizo sausage patty (which is flavored with sweet paprila, garlic, and a touch of red chili), onion curtido, chimichurri, escabeche aioli, and patatas fritas—giving you a happy mix of meaty, zesty, slightly-spicy, and creamy profiles in each bite. Also on their short-but-sweet menu is the Criollo Sandwich (P245); this is similar to the chorizo version but with a criollo sausage patty, which has a less piquant (but just as flavorful), more herby character from its flavorings of fennel, oregano, and nutmeg. Pair these sandwiches with the Patatas Fritas (P175), or fried potatoes with smoked paprika, escabeche aioli, and bravas sauce, and you'll totally be transported to the streets of Latin America without having to leave the house.
