This New Dairy-Free Avocado Ice Cream Gets a Hint of Umami, Thanks to Miso

(SPOT.ph) Filipinos love avocados in sweet applications. After all, the green fruit has a naturally rich and creamy character that makes for some indulgent sweet treats! Aside from serving it with condensed milk or utilizing it in cakes and pastries, another popular avocado dessert in these parts is avocado ice cream—and while most versions go for a straightforward avocado-cream-sugar combo, we recently got to try a distinctive version that ingeniously adds an surprising Japanese ingredient to the mix. Check out the new dairy-free Guacamiso flavor from local ice-cream shop Kurimu, in collaboration with taco shop Lagrima!

The Guacamiso ice cream is Kurimu's first plant-based flavor that ingeniously combines avocado, a homemade cashew cream, and—you guessed it—miso! The star of the show here is the lush and earthy flavor of the avocado, but you also get a mild umami hint from the miso for extra depth. It sure doesn't hurt that it's silky smooth on the tongue, even sans dairy!

It's also wonderfully creamy despite not having any dairy in the mix.

A 16-ounce pint goes for P450, and you can get your fix by heading over to Kurimu's website. It'll soon also be available on GrabFood, Foodpanda, or Pickaroo.

For orders, visit Kurimu's delivery website. You can also check out their Facebook page.
