(SPOT.ph) To achieve herd immunity, the Philippines is looking to inoculate 70 million Filipinos (or 70% of the population) against COVID-19 as soon as possible. But at the rate that we're going, it's going to take some time, especially since we've only vaccinated 1.98% of the population, according to herdimmunity.ph. Local government units are coming up with different ways to achieve the target, from extending vaccination past daytime working hours to deploying mobile vaccination units. Other cities in Metro Manila have allowed walk-ins to encourage more residents and workers to be vaccinated without having to wait for a text or call from their respective vaccination teams.

These places in Metro Manila are open for COVID vaccine walk-ins:
Manila
Manila made headlines in mid-June after residents complained of long queues at vaccination sites. The city allows walk-ins at various locations, prompting people to line up as early as 2 a.m. just to get a slot. Because of this, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno announced that a no-walk in policy would be implemented on Monday, June 21; only to scrap it later in the day following a low turnout.
At present, Manila residents and workers from the A1 to A5 priority groups can go to any Manila vaccination site. Just make sure to bring your QR code or waiver form acquired through the Manila CoVax website. The Manila Public Information Office page also gives updates on whether or not the sites reach full capacity for the day. Slots range from 1,000 (school sites) to 2,500 (mall sites) per day.
Manila received on June 24 up to 400,000 doses of Sinovac, which was procured by the city government.

Caloocan
On Friday, June 25, Caloocan Mayor Oscar Malapitan reminded local residents and workers to go to a vaccination site near them from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. as long as they belong to priority groups A1 to A5 "Kung kabilang sa priority groups at nakapag-profiling na ay hindi na kinakailangan maghintay ng appointment o text message. Maaari nang magtungo sa pinakamalapit na vaccination site," he posted.

Locations and number of slots are also regularly posted on Malapitan's and the Caloocan City Public Affairs and Information Office's Facebook pages.

Muntinlupa
Muntinlupa is currently vaccinating their A1 to A5 residents through appointment. Just register through the MunCoVac website and wait for a text message regarding your schedule. Walk-ins are allowed only when there are extra vaccines at the different sites. "Papayagan lamang ang walk-in kung may sobrang bakuna mula sa alokasyon ng may appointment pero no-show sa araw na iyon," the MunCoVac page said in a post.
They have a "Bakuna sa Bahay" program, which caters to bedridden residents.

Navotas
Navotas rolls out a list of names to be vaccinated per site on the next day through their page Navoteño AKO! Some sites vaccinate until the A5 priority groups, while others—like the Navotas Fish Port Complex—cater to specific essential workers.

Walk-ins are accepted starting at 1 p.m. in most vaccination sites. "Sakali mang maging maluwag ang schedule ng pagbabakuna ng 2nd dose sa umaga, maaari rin pong agahan ang pagbibigay ng 1st dose," Navoteño AKO! said in a post.

Pateros
Pateros Mayor Miguel Ponce III announced on June 16 that the municipality is now accepting walk-in clients in an effort to increase their daily rate. "There are still many who have not registered, that is why sometimes, we don’t have people to be vaccinated in a particular time slot," he said in a Facebook Live broadcast.

However, walk-ins will only be allowed in the afternoon and limited to Pateros workers and residents belonging to the A1 to A4 priority groups. Pateros only has four vaccination centers, namely: AMC Gym in San Roque, Pateros Catholic School-Annex in San Pedro, Pateros Catholic School-Main in Poblacion and Villa Monica Clubhouse in San Roque.
