Aside from the Apple-exclusive features, one notable thing about Apple products is their apps. From Pages to Numbers, they have iOS-only alternatives to popular software programs like Microsoft Word and Excel. Another popular iOS-exclusive app is FaceTime, which is a mobile app Apple users use to make audio and video calls over WiFi or cellular data. And ICYDK, FaceTime can actually support a call with up to 32 people at once, so it's kind of similar to your typical Zoom room

Finally, Android Users Can Join FaceTime Calls

And to even cater to more people, Apple is officially making it possible for non-iOS users to make use of FaceTime. The tech giant announced during their 2021 Worldwide Developers Conference that the upcoming iOS 15 update will include major changes to FaceTime, one of which is by making it accessible through the web. This means that an iOS user can start or schedule a call and send the shareable link to that call to Android and Windows users so they can join in even if they don't have the FaceTime app. Android and Windows users will only need to paste the link on any browser available on their phones to access the FaceTime call. Apple also assures that these calls will still remain end-to-end encrypted.

Aside from making shareable FaceTime links, Apple shares the update will also introduce spatial audio to FaceTime so that the audio will "sound as if they are coming from where the person is positioned on the screen." Portrait Mode will also be available through the update, with users having the option to blur their backgrounds. Through group FaceTime, users will get a grid view so that more people on the call will appear on your screen.

The public beta for iOS 15 is expected to come out sometime in July 2021.
