(SPOT.ph) Pizzas come in different styles around the world, but if it's one with a charred and chewy crust that you hanker for, brick oven pizza is your best bet. This style of pizza is, as the name implies, cooked in a brick oven—which can reach higher temperatures than a regular home oven, creating the slightly blistered, smoky crust that goes well with so many toppings. If you're in Cebu, you'll want to get your fix from Sesame—a home-based online seller that does weekly delivery popups, and makes some of the most drool-worthy pizzas around!

Describing themselves as a "home pizzaiola", Sesame's Alyssa Go started making pizzas as a hobby in 2019. "I'd do a lot of experiments especially with the dough until I'd get what I liked," Go shares in an exchange with SPOT.ph. "The pizzas I make, I [would] usually share to my family and friends." In April, she started sharing the pizzas to other people in their city, and started selling online as well. "While it was enjoyable to make each pizza, it was an even better when the joy was shared with family and friends. Through our pizzas, may you also gather around with those dear to you," Go writes in an Instagram post.
Sesame's pizzas are roughly 11 inches in diameter and are fired at high temperatures. "Our dough takes a whole day to make and we do take pride in our dough," says Go. Complementing their delectable crusts with rustic, charred cornicione are simple but well-thought out topping combinations using quality ingredients—like the classic combo of tomatoes, Italian mozzarella, basil, and olive oil in the Queen Marg's Sister (P280), and tomatoes, Italian mozzarella, peperoni, grated parmesan cheese, and garlic oil in the Ms. Peppa Roni (P350).
Love meat? You can't go wrong with the Salame Devine (P420) with salame piccante, herb sausage, Italian mozzarella, red onions, bell pepper, and hot honey; or the Prosciutto with tomatoes, Italian mozzarella, prosciutto crudo, parmesan cream, basil, arugula, and shaved parmesan. For a savory-sweet bite, don't miss the Honey Bae (P390)—it's got garden cream, Italian mozzarella, cheddar, gouda, blue cheese, and basil plus honey!
