(SPOT.ph) Today in "Commercials That Cross a Line We Didn't Know Existed" is a truly cinematic masterpiece about forbidden love—between an alcohol and a moisturizer. Literally. We just spotted this crazy ad from Hygienix Philippines and we just need to share the erm, experience. It's a lot to unpack so you may want to sit down for this.
The very aptly named commercial stars a bottle of alcohol and a bottle of moisturizer. The two are very much in love—are you still with us here?—except that the moisturizer's parents don't approve. So, of course, the next logical step is to elope.
The story and dialogue play out like the radio dramas you hear being blasted in jeeps or taxis–except, of course, for the characters being bottles. Also, to be fair, the commercial is executed really well; we're talking lighting, sound, the shot, editing—all line up so that you actually feel like the bottles are alive, and in love, somehow. It almost makes up for that unexplainable feeling you get watching it.
And it's not just any baby, it's Hygienix's line of skin-friendly alcohol. It all makes sense now. Somehow. We have to commend whoever came up with this idea—and possibly ask if they're okay!
