The BGC-Ortigas Center Link, meant to divert traffic from EDSA and shorten travel time for motorists shuttling between Makati and Mandaluyong, is nearing completion and will open on June 12, photos showed.
Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar inspected the P1.793-billion project on Thursday, May 6, roughly a month ahead of its opening. The four-lane bridge crosses the Pasig River and is composed of a lane viaduct along with a widened road.
Once complete and fully operational, it should take only 12 minutes to go Bonifacio Global City in Taguig to the Ortigas Central Business District. Following its June opening, the Estrella-Pantaleon Bridge between Makati City and Mandaluyong is expected to finish construction in July as part of the EDSA decongestion project.
