The Philippines boasts over 180 languages and Bisaya is just one, spoken in many parts of Visayas and Mindanao. According to Linya-Linya, they decided to make the tees after releasing online content in Bisaya "with the help of Cebuano friends," which then received a a lot of positive feedback. "As a brand [that's] proudly Filipino, it’s our duty to represent every Filipino. And to do that we recognized that we also have to create content and merch in languages other than Tagalog," said Linya-Linya creative director Ali Sangalang.

The collection features two T-shirt designs. One sports the single-worded question "palihug?" up front, referring to the Bisaya word for "please" and combining it with the English word "hug". The T-shirt's cutesy message is all about warm physical affection.

The Gugmalas Shirt features an amalgamation of the Bisaya word "gugma," meaning love, and the Tagalog "malas," meaning bad luck. You can probably guess what they're suggesting with the portmanteau—we’ve all been unlucky in love at least once in our lives, right?
