(SPOT.ph) We've waited nearly two decades for this—and it's sure to be worth it. The Friends reunion special drops on Thursday, May 27! Yup, this month. We're freaking out, too. The thing is though that the reunion streams "only" on HBO Max, said the streaming platform when they dropped the date announcement on Facebook.
But that doesn't mean we've lost hope. HBO Go exists! Fingers crossed we get a slice of the action there. And to add to the slight anxiety, we both love and hate how little the teaser gives us. It looks like the Central Perk gang walking down the street of their Los Angeles set!
Here's what we know about the Friends reunion special:
So first things first: the entire main cast is coming back for the reunion! Yup, that's Jennifer Aniston as Rachel Green, Courteney Cox as Monica Geller, Lisa Kudrow as Phoebe Buffay, Matt LeBlanc as Joey Tribbiani, Matthew Perry as Chandler Bing, and David Schwimmer as Ross Geller.
Schwimmer let us in on the fact that the shoot happened in Los Angeles in April, saying "I'm going to see everyone next week for the first time in many years," on BBC's The Graham Norton Show. Hit us right in the feels.
We know that the show is unscripted—letting the gang's natural chemistry shine—but Schwimmer also confirmed that they'll be playing themselves. "I’ll be myself. I’ll be David," he clarified. "There’s nothing scripted. We’re not in character." TBH, the lines between them and their characters are pretty blurred so we can't wait to see how it turns out!
