Fried Chicken Got the Piri-Piri Treatment and The Results Are Glorious

(SPOT.ph) Piri-piri chicken refers to a grilled chicken dish from Africa and Portugal with ingredients like lemon juice, garlic, paprika, and chilies. And here in the Philippines, nobody does piri-piri chicken quite like Spicebird—the homegrown joint that's originally from Boracay, but also opened up shop in Manila (specifically, at The Grid) in 2020. While their flagship dish—the Piri-Piri Chicken—is grilled, this time around, they're putting the flavors they're known for and on its crunchier, more decadent cousin. Yep, Spicebird now makes Piri-Piri Fried Chicken.

You can get it in a range of serving sizes, from quarter to whole.

The Piri-Piri Fried Chicken is fried chicken with a thin and crisp skin, glazed with Spicebird's signature piri-piri sauce. It's then served with lime and your choice of one of their signature sauces for dipping—we recommend their piri-piri sauce, of course. You get a savory, tangy, and slightly-spicy bite that's similar to its O.G. grilled counterpart, but crispier!

You'll be licking the plate clean!

If you're dining solo, you can go for the Quarter Piri-Piri Fried Chicken (P295), which comes with rice and grilled corn. Planning on sharing? The Half Piri-Piri Fried Chicken (P475) with rice and grilled corn is a great choice (good for one if you're really hungry, just saying); or the Whole Piri-Piri Fried Chicken (P750/ala carte, P950/with rice). For a more casual and snackable bite, you can also get the Piri-Piri Fried Chicken Wings (P295), which is a great companion to your Netflix binge. Just choose your chicken and head over at The Grid's website, or find Spicebird on Pickaroo or GrabFood.

The wings are a great companion to your weekend Netflix sesh.
