Bike lanes have been opened on EDSA, announced the Department of Transportation, providing a bluperint for the rest of the country to promote active transport during the pandemic.
The long-running quarantines pushed commuters to move around on two wheels due to restrictions on public transport.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Department of Public Works and Highways are looking to create bike lane networks in Metro Manila, Cebu, and Davao.
Several types of bike lanes were put in place, with most utilizing painted lanes, while some have barriers and reflective markers to clearly delineate the lane.
Any violators seen parking on bike lanes or taking up bike lane space would be apprehended.
