(SPOT.ph) Tourism, while slowly restarting, remains to be the most hit industry in the country. Hotels and resorts are closing one by one, local guides are forced to find other jobs, and small communities that are dependent on droves of travelers are losing their income. Even a luxury resort as famous as Sheridan Beach Resort and Spa in Sabang Beach, Puerto Princesa, Palawan has announced its closure effective March 20.

Sheridan Beach Resort and Spa is also hopeful for the town. "The future is bright in Sabang. There's no question that better opportunities still lie in wait for this small patch of paradise. Palawan beckons and people WILL continue to come."

Sheridan Beach Resort and Spa is known as the gateway to the famous Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park. It claims to be "the first green resort in the Philippines," championing environmental sustainability along Sabang Beach.
