McDonald's Philippines Is Vaccinating Their Employees for Free

(SPOT.ph) With COVID-19 numbers still on the rise, one of our remaining beacons of hope (for the time being, at least) is vaccination—and more Filipinos are getting their shot, no pun intended, at receiving their own. You can add McDonald's employees to that list: the Golden Arches Development Corporation (a.k.a. McDonald’s Philippines) purchased close to 100,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses from AstraZeneca, and will be vaccinating their employees for free.

It's a win-win for their employees and for us customers!

Half of the total doses will be donated to the government and administered by the Department of Health, in accordance with the government’s allocation framework and priority guidelines. McDonald's vaccination program for its employees will be in compliance with all government protocols.

"With the health and safety of people being our top priority, we will be providing the COVID-19 vaccine for free for our frontliners—crew and managers, in all company-owned restaurants nationwide," says McDonald’s Philippines President and CEO Kenneth S. Yang in a statement. "It is our responsibility to keep our people safe so that our customers will be too."

It's worth noting that McDonald's has taken great steps to assure safety since the announcement of the community quarantines in 2020, with initatives like their M Safe program (where they made sure to comply with safety protocols, e.g. the wearing of face masks and shields and more frequent handwashing), mass testing, and more.
