(SPOT.ph) We all miss going to bookstores. One popular spot to hunt for rare books back in the B.C. days—that's Before Coronavirus—was Roel's Bookshop along Maginhawa Street in Quezon City. The mom-and-pop (and son) shop was a favorite among book lovers for its massive and rather esoteric selection, from hard-to-find tomes to antique editions. Their books were not the kind you could easily find online—or at least, outside of Facebook bibliophile communities—that is, until now. Yup, Roel's Bookshop now has an official site where you can easily find your next great read!

They dropped the exciting news on their Facebook page on February 15. A quick look at the now-live site shows all kinds of books, from Marx to Philippine Lit. Roel's explained in the caption that their digital shop is currently in soft launch mode so that means payments will still have to be made offline as of the moment, "similar to how our transactions are on Facebook." Deliveries within Metro Manila can be booked through a courier while nationwide shipping has a flat rate of P150.

"We are truly grateful for all of your support over the years," they wrote in the caption. Roel's Bookshop is a cozy single-storey affair tucked into a little nook along Maginhawa. It was started by the Abaya family in 2009 when dad Roel, a book lover who works overseas, began scouring California for reads that were hard to get in the Philippines. Their shop moved from Multiply to Facebook, and in 2018, they opened up their first physical store in Quezon City with mother-and-son duo, Elizabeth and Roie, at its helm.
While we can't help missing going through the titles at their Maginhawa bookshop, we're definitely celebrating their first ever official website! Now excuse us while we throw ourselves down this digital black hole.
