(SPOT.ph) Deadline for registering to vote for the 2022 National Elections is on September 2021, just a few months from now. In case you haven't gotten around to doing so, note that appointments can now be made at your nearby Commission on Elections office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Tuesdays to Saturdays—a few more hours than originally scheduled. The extension officially begins Monday, February 15, announced the Commission on Elections a day before.

Originally, registration was done from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The extended hours were put in place to ideally "help bolster voter registration turnout," said a statement from the COMELEC. Offices will be open on holidays to accomodate voters' registration as well so best plan ahead!
Registration at COMELEC is a tad different this time around due to the pandemic. Offices are given a deep cleaning at least once a week, according to the statement, and those registering must follow strict safety protocols. You can download the necessary forms before heading to the office; walk-ins are accepted but booking an appointment is definitely the safer way to go.
