(SPOT.ph) When news broke that Makati Shangri-La is temporarily closing their doors, both hoteliers and frequent guests were sad to see the favorite staycation destination go. This includes photographer Jason Magbanua, who did his last wedding coverage at the hotel on Thursday, January 28.

"This was THE hotel which hosted the grandest of social celebrations and milestones," he said in a post. The wedding photographer also shared that "the very first Wedding Same Day Edit publicly screened was at the Rizal Ballroom of Makati Shangri-La, Manila" around two decades ago. He went on to enumerate the things he'll miss: the anteroom where he used to edit, the lounge where he met with clients, and even "the best restrooms for number two."

Like most people, he wished that Makati Shangri-La would come back "stronger and better."

In a statement released on January 20, Makati Shangri-La announced that they will be temporarily closing on February 1. "As part of the reorganization exercise, we will sadly be parting ways with a number of colleagues and we will be temporarily closing Makati Shangri-La, Manila," a company spokesperson said in a statement that was sent to SPOT.ph.
