(SPOT.ph) This year is definitely one for the books—the type your kids' kids are probably going to learn about in school someday. Well, one day they're going to watch a film about it and here's one ironically fun choice: Death to 2020, a mockumentary about all the shit we went through this year courtesy of Black Mirror creators Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones! Oh yes, nothing's too soon for these people. This Netflix Comedy Event drops on December 27—and yup, they have finally released the first trailer. Check it out below:

It's a little hard to describe what this spoof documentary will be about—apt, seeing as this is from the Black Mirror folks—but it's sure to be funny, shocking, possibly irreverent, and a whole lot of painful. The film will combine actual footage and reportage from all the craziness of the year with commentary from fake "renowned" experts, reports Deadline.
And to play those fake experts—which, as we all learned from 2020, isn't a fictional concept—they're bringing in a whole slew of stars from all across your fave shows and movies. Samuel L. Jackson, Lisa Kudrow, and Leslie Jones will all be playing pseudo-authorities dropping "facts" on 2020. Hugh Grant may not have been in the trailer but he has been confirmed to take on the role of a "repellant" historian, according to the Deadline report. Other stars joining the cast are Joe Keery, Kumail Nanjiani, Tracey Ullman, Cristin Milioti, and Samson Kayo.

Netflix dropped a glitchy little teaser for the mockumentary on December 7. "Even the creators of Black Mirror couldn't make this year up," it stated, but it looks like they have something to add to it! Black Mirror isn't known for comedy—no judgment though if incredibly dark humor is your thing—but no other series has captured the horrors and nuances of life, so we can only imagine what they'll do with a year like 2020. Mark your calendars for the only look-back we can probably stomach!
