(SPOT.ph) There's no lack of cool, under-the-radar spots in Metro Manila—but this micro-cinema certainly is something else. Sine Pop is a rare, quiet spot right smack in the middle of Cubao's busy streets. The "boutique cinema," as their Facebook page states, is located in a renovated 1948 house along St. Mary Street, Cubao, just a few minutes away from the Light Rail Line 2 train station. It features a 48-seater theater, a seven-meter screen, and an unexpected green spot courtesy of a lovely bamboo garden.

Best part? They are currently holding screenings of Lav Diaz's four-hour epic, Norte, Hangganan ng Kasaysayan, every Saturday at 1 p.m., complete with drinks at the bamboo garden after. Just note that they're limiting it to a maximum of just six people; you can contact them through social media to reserve a slot!

Sine Pop began holding pop-up screenings around Metro Manila in 2018 before eventually settling in one of the large houses in Cubao. The house was originally built and designed by couple Sotero Pasion Eugenio, a civil engineer from Laoag City and Lourdes Sabas Segui, a pharmacist from Batac City. "My family lived in this property for almost 70 years (until 2017), during which we tried to preserve its original beauty, as it was built by my parents," noted their son Pedro Eugenio, in a Facebook post. "I'm happy to see that it has been restored beautifully." With the awesome mix of old and modern, it is definitely a place worth including on your post-quarantine bucket list.
