Sarah Geronimo and Matteo Guidicelli have always been a very private celebrity couple. For one, they've kept the details of their engagement under wraps, only posting an announcement on Instagram last November 2019.
A year later, the couple has finally shared more deets of how Guidicelli popped the question. In recent interviews, it was revealed that Matteo actually proposed to Geronimo not just once, but twice—and yup, he gave her TWO engagement rings as well!
The first proposal reportedly happened while the couple was in Italy. In a YouTube video with Dr. Vicki Belo, Geronimo mentioned that it was only the two of them plus Matteo's family who knew about their engagement at the time. She didn't specify when it happened exactly, but PEP.ph reports that Mr. and Mrs. G were spotted in Italy back in September 2018 when the couple celebrated their fifth anniversary.
Meanwhile, Guidicelli's second proposal happened in Cebu. According to Geronimo, they were with Guidicelli's relatives, "Parang paalam lang sa kanila," she said.
In the same report by PEP.ph, it's said that Guidicelli confirmed that he gave his wife one engagement ring for each proposal. "That first ring, I'm proud of it, I'm very proud that it was… my grandmother's ring," he shares. "I'm very proud na it did not need re-adjusting or anything."
That said, only one of Geronimo's rings has been publicly revealed as her engagement ring. It's the same one she was wearing in Matteo's Instagram announcement, and Sarah now wears this diamond ring with her wedding band.
