(SPOT.ph) There's something deeply satisfying about sinking your teeth into a good cut of beef—especially when it's of a high grade, like Wagyu. Pair it with rice and a few extra flavorful components, and you've got yourself one heck of a meal. If that got your mouth watering, we highly recommend that you clear your lunch or dinner plans some time this week and make space for the Wagyu Steak Bowl by new cloud-kitchen concept Ginza Gyu, which is opening on November 5!
The Wagyu Steak Bowl (P680) highlights ultra-tender Japanese Wagyu sirloin, which lies on a bed of Wagyu steak sasanishiki rice and comes with house-made gari (pickled ginger) and wasabi salt. Every part of the bowl plays a role in building up the flavor: the sirloin is flavorful the way Wagyu can be; the rice is slightly sweet and beefy; the wasabi salt adds just a touch of heat; and the pickled ginger serves as the perfect palate cleanser in between bites. You can also get it as a tray good for three to four for P1,700.
Ginza Gyu has other Japanese-style bowls that'll fulfill your hankering for good beef. The Gyudon (P345/bowl, P865/tray) is an excellent rendition of the Japanese classic, with braised thin-sliced U.S. beef, signature gyudon sauce, shiitake mushrooms, ajitsuke tamago (marinated soft-boiled eggs), gari, and steamed sasanishiki rice. You can also get the Wagyu Gyudon G6 (P545/bowl, P1,360/tray), which replaces the U.S. beef with Grade 6 Kitayama Wagyu.
Meanwhile, the Wagyu Hamburg (P480/bowl) is akin to an upgraded take on a fast-food burger steak, with its combo of ground Wagyu beef, house-made tonkatsu sauce, ajitsuke tamago, gari, and Wagyu steak sasanishiki rice. There's also the ultra-indulgent Brown Butter Tenderloin Bowl (P490/bowl, P1,230/tray) with choice tenderloin, brown butter, garlic chips, ajitsuke tamago, and wagyu steak sasanishiki rice.
They've got other non-beef options too—among which is the Kurobutadon (P380/bowl, P950/tray) with braised thin-sliced kurobuta pork, house-special dipping sauce, ajitsuke tamago, gari, and steamed sasanishiki rice. Love seafood? Try the Ebi Katsu (P470/bowl), which has breaded black tiger prawns, nori tamago (seaweed omelette), dashi mirin glaze, Japanese mayonnaise, gari, and shiitake mushroom sasanishiki rice.
You can get your fix of these bowls and trays by sending Ginza Gyu a message on Instagram (they're taking orders as early as now!)—you can then book your own courier to get it delivered, or they can help book one for you—and they'll soon be on Foodpanda, GrabFood, and LalaFood, too. You can also visit them at their San Antonio Village, Makati outpost.
Still hungry for beef? Just some of the other great beef dishes you can order in Manila are Angus Pares' Angus Pares Mami and Your Local's Beef Rendang Buns—both of which are also available for delivery!
Ginza Gyu will be at G/F Techzone Building, 231 Sen Gil Puyat Avenue, San Antonio Village, Makati City. For delivery orders, send a message to Ginza Gyu's Instagram page.
