Move Over, IG Stories; Twitter Now Has "Fleets"

(SPOT.ph) Look, Twitter not having an edit button means everybody thinks twice about the 280 characters they're about to drop on the huge network—ideally speaking. So the next time you're not quite sure about whether you want your tweet up there forever, then check out Twitter's Fleets, a new feature that lets you publish posts that only last for 24 hours! Think Instagram Stories, only it's on the Twitter platform (where things tend to get a lot, well, messier).

Publishing a Fleet is pretty similar to any other Tweet; you can post text, videos, pictures like normal, then tap the "Share in Fleet" option under the "Share" icon at the bottom of the posted tweet. Twitter began rolling out the feature globally on November 17 so expect it to go live on the local network in the coming days. Plus, Twitter is working on adding stickers and live broadcasts for Fleets too.

"Tweeting is uncomfortable because it feels so public, so permanent, and like there's so much pressure to rack up Retweets and Likes," said Twitter's Joshua Harris and Sam Haveson in the platform's official blog. "To help people feel more comfortable, we've been working on a lower pressure way for people to talk about what’s happening." Cue the new Fleets feature!

Meanwhile, Twitter is already going crazy testing out the new feature. It is among the top trends as of writing, with people sharing a lot of opinions (Read: Where is the "Edit" button first?). Check out some of them below:
