Cooper Tomlinson, recently seen in Blumhouse and Focus Features’ global box office hit Obsession, has landed his next leading role. Tomlinson will star alongside Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day, Happy Death Day 2U) and Mika Abdalla (Off Campus, The Pitt) in Seeker, an original mystery thriller directed by Adam Rehmeier (Snack Shack, Dinner in America).
The film is based on an original screenplay by Michael Learner and is scheduled to begin production in Washington State in January 2027. Hammerstone Studios, HyperObject Industries, Arkhum Productions, and north.five.six. are teaming up on the fully financed feature, with north.five.six. and CAA Media Finance launching worldwide sales at the American Film Market in Los Angeles, which runs November 10–14.
What Is Seeker About?
In Seeker, Tomlinson plays Grant, a man who has spent five years haunted by the unexplained disappearance of his fiancée, Caroline (Abdalla). Now working as a ride-share driver, Grant’s life takes an unexpected turn when he picks up a passenger he believes is responsible for Caroline’s disappearance. What begins as a tense game of cat-and-mouse soon spirals into something far stranger and more disturbing, challenging everything Grant thinks he knows.
Rothe is also part of the cast, although the announcement has not yet revealed details about her character.

Who Is Starring in Seeker?
Tomlinson’s recent work includes Obsession, the Blumhouse and Focus Features release that became a global box office sensation. He will next appear in Anything But Ghosts, from Blumhouse Atomic, Spooky Pictures, and Focus Features. Tomlinson co-wrote that film with longtime collaborator Curry Barker, who also directs and stars opposite him, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Aaron Paul. Anything But Ghosts is scheduled to reach theaters on May 7, 2027.
Rothe is best known for playing Tree Gelbman in the Blumhouse horror comedies Happy Death Day and Happy Death Day 2U. The original film grossed more than $125 million worldwide. Her other credits include Damien Chazelle’s Oscar-winning La La Land, Beware Boiúna, Forever My Girl, Valley Girl, All My Life, and Boy Kills World. She will next star opposite Jane Levy in Universal Pictures and Blumhouse’s River, which opens in theaters January 15, 2027. The film premiered in the Midnight Madness section of the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival.
Abdalla recently starred as Allie in Prime Video’s Off Campus, based on Elle Kennedy’s book series. The series premiered in May, and its second season has wrapped production with Abdalla returning as the lead. She also appeared in Rehmeier’s coming-of-age comedy Snack Shack, produced by Rian Johnson’s T-Street, and starred in the Hulu original comedy Sex Appeal. Her television credits include HBO Max’s The Pitt and Netflix’s Project Mc².
Who Is Producing Seeker?
Rehmeier is directing from Learner’s original screenplay, with Alex Lebovici and Learner producing for Hammerstone Studios. Adam McKay and Todd Schulman are producing for HyperObject Industries, while Noah Centineo and Enzo Marc are producing for Arkhum Productions. Samuel Hall and Warren Goz will executive produce for north.five.six., alongside Ibrahim Mohammed, Yasmyne Mohammed, and Chase Vergari.
