If you missed Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma during its theatrical run, MUBI has announced when horror fans will be able to watch Jane Schoenbrun’s new movie from home: Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma will stream exclusively on MUBI beginning October 2, 2026.
The film is the third feature from Schoenbrun, the filmmaker behind We’re All Going to the World’s Fair and I Saw the TV Glow. It stars Hannah Einbinder (Hacks) and Gillian Anderson (The X-Files) in a horror story that takes the familiar slasher movie and turns it into something considerably stranger. Schoenbrun’s film premiered as the opening selection of the Un Certain Regard section at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, where it went on to win the Queer Palm.

In Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, a young filmmaker named Kris (Hannah Einbinder) is given the opportunity to resurrect the long-running Camp Miasma slasher franchise. Looking for inspiration for the new movie, Kris tracks down Billy (Gillian Anderson), the reclusive actress who played the original film’s final girl. Their encounter sends the two women into a strange, blood-soaked world of desire, fear and delirium.
The film runs 112 minutes and was written and directed by Schoenbrun.

Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma has earned a lot of positive attention since its Cannes premiere, with the film currently carrying an 8.0/10 rating from more than 600 MUBI users on MUBI’s international film page.
JoBlo’s own Chris Bumbray gave the movie a 7/10 review, describing it as a highly meta take on the slasher genre. In his review, Bumbray praised Schoenbrun’s sense of humor and the movie’s nostalgic affection for the horror films it references, while noting that its increasingly surreal final act could prove divisive.
Bumbray wrote that the movie is more openly entertaining than Schoenbrun’s previous feature I Saw the TV Glow, while also describing it as a deliberately surreal experience that isn’t interested in offering easy interpretations.
