Episode 8 of 80s Horror Memories goes trick or treating with Halloween II

JoBlo.com recently launched a new weekly documentary series called 80s Horror Memories, and the first five episodes of the series were all dedicated to film that were released in 1980: Maniac, Dressed to Kill, AlligatorFriday the 13thThe ShiningProm Night, and The Fog. With episode 6, we entered 1981 – so far in this year we have covered The Funhouse, The Burning, Friday the 13th Part 2, and My Bloody Valentine, as well as the careers of horror hosts Elvira and Joe Bob Briggs. As our journey through 1981 continues, we’ve decided to go trick or treating with a sequel to one of the most popular horror films ever made – and you can hear all about Halloween II (watch it HERE) in the video embedded above!

New episodes of 80s Horror Memories will be released through the YouTube channel JoBlo Horror Originals every Monday. 

Here’s the info on 80s Horror MemoriesIt’s been over 40 years that the decade that shaped the horror movie industry began and having lived through most of those years personally, we at JoBlo/Arrow in the Head have decided to create a 10-part documentary series in which not only cover every nook and cranny of the biggest horror themes from 1980 to 1989 but also what was happening in the world at the time. Join us as we walk down Horror Memory Lane!

And here’s the info on this particular episode: It’s hard to go anywhere these days without seeing The Shape, or rather the face of Michael Myers. That terrifying blank slate is everywhere from plushies to Christmas ornaments to underwear. On today’s episode of 80s Horror Memories, let’s go back in time a bit to see why Halloween II made Michael Myers a slasher icon.

This episode of 80s Horror Memories was written by Niki Minter, narrated by Tyler Nichols, edited by Kier Gomes, produced by Berge Garabedian and John Fallon, co-produced by Mike Conway, and executive produced by Berge Garabedian. The score was provided by Shawn Knippelberg. The special guests in this episode are Doug Jones (Hellboy), Sandy King (They Live), and Eric Red (The Hitcher).
