Written and directed by Ruben Rodriguez, The Death of April has the following synopsis: Meagan Mullen, freshly moved in her new home, keeps in touch with her friends and family through a video blog. As her entries (and her life) become more complex and emotional, strange things begin to happen in her room: and the camera captures all of it. Told primarily from the point of view of an ordinary wireless webcam, The Death of April documents the unsettling activity in an otherwise average girl’s bedroom – and the mysteries that surround it.
The film stars Amy Rutledge, Katarina Hughes, Stephanie Domini Ehlert, Chelsea Clark, Adam Christian Lowder, Collen Doyle, Lucio Fernandez, Leonel Ortega, Travis Peters, Paulina Grochala, Megan Hartig, RayMartell Moore, and Nadia Jimenez.
The Death of April was the 77th directing credit for Rodriguez, with many of his previous directorial efforts being short films. He made his feature directing debut with the 2005 horror film In the Woods, and over the years has followed that with projects like Sawaru, Cereal Killers, Killing Miranda, and the anthologies Strange Events, Strange Events 2, Grindsploitation: The Movie, Grindsploitation 2: The Lost Reels, Grindsploitation 3: Video Nasty, Drive-In Grindhouse, The Portal, World of Death, The Invoking: Paranormal Dimensions, Charlotte: The Return, Zombie, It’s Here, 60 Seconds to Die, and 60 Seconds to Di3.
