Free Movie of the Day: Creepy phone call horror film Close Calls

On the JoBlo Movies YouTube channel, we will be posting one full movie every day of the week, giving viewers the chance to watch them entirely free of charge. The Free Movie of the Day we have for you today is writer/director Richard Stringham’s 2017 horror film Close Calls. You can watch it over on the YouTube channel linked above, or you can just watch it in the embed at the top of this article.

Close Calls has the following synopsis:

Morgan – a troubled, drug-addled teen – must deal with her crazy grandma and a psycho caller when her father leaves her home alone. As the calls keep coming in, a paranoid Morgan is forced to face her worst fears and inner demons when she believes everyone she knows is either plotting against her – or trying to kill her.

The film stars Jordan Phipps, Greg Fallon, Carmen Patterson, Kristof Waltermire, Janis Duley, Star McCann, Landen Matt, Alix Lindbergh, Joseph Melero, Samantha Laine Anderson, Robert Babcock, Vaughn Collar, Michael Babcock, Sarah Alexis Barrett, Alivea Disney-LaFavor, Dewey Farmer, Jordan Jackson, Santiago Loyola-Valois, Johnny Jackson, Darius White, Chad Foreman, and Stringham himself.

Close Calls was the feature writing and directing debut for Stringham, and according to the film’s IMDb trivia page he cracked the story during “a powerful trip on psilocybin shrooms”. This remains his only feature, but he has earned producing credits on several other projects, including Space Babes from Outer Space, 10/31, 13 Fanboy, The Barn Part II, Murdercise, and more.
